Battersea Royal College of Arts
Holland Park
At £58 million pounds, this new development is the most expensive school ever built in Britain. Under the revised plans, the school will have more outdoor space including a floodlit games area and an extra tennis court whilst providing accommodation for 1,500 students and over 100 staff. MAL Ltd were contracted to provide the setting out for the external cladding and finished with onsite as-built surveys to help achieve this complex building.

HWA secured the contract to design and install the facade system for the new Monkseaton High School development. MAL Ltd were involved in setting out positions for the curved structure and also surveying the structural slab position and height to ensure there would be no clash with the closely fitting design of steelwork to hold the glazing system.
The new Dyson Building makes up the largest part of the new campus encompassing the departments of Printmaking and Photography which will relocate to Battersea when the building is complete in 2012. MAL Ltd have been contracted to provide the setting out for the external cladding and surveys of as-built structure to help produce a stunning new building facade.
This nine-storey building on Keyworth Street, is the main thoroughfare through the university. It allows for flexible teaching space siting alongside a west-facing glazed hall, which acts as a naturally ventilated buffer, mediating air and light from the hot, bright side of the building. The hall contains twin wooden towers dedicated to teaching, designed as ‘Romeo & Juliet’ pairings of rooms and terrace balconies.
