Newport Station

The redevelopment of St Pancras International transformed the station to a world class level including providing a new high speed Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL), now called High Speed 1 (HS1). The construction was undertaken in two phases. Phase 1 involved finishing the East Deck extension, which would act as an interim station of up to 6 platforms. Once the interim station was operational, work proceeded for Phase 2; to excavate and build a 'station box' for the new Thameslink underground station, complete the West Deck extension and refurbish the existing train shed.

London Blackfriars station handles millions of passengers every year. The new station provides a better interchange between national rail and London Underground services making London's Bankside and South Bank tourist areas much more accessible to passengers. The refurb includes new escalators from street-level; a bright, modern and spacious new ticket hall; improved lighting and security systems, making journeys even safer; new lifts for step-free access from the street to all platforms.
This newley rebuilt £22m railway station in Newport is a futuristic design, which features a roof built with the same material as the Eden Project in Cornwall, is almost twice the size of the old building. The distinctive "bubble wrap" roof features 31 futuristic air-filled plastic cushions made from a recyclable material that does not degrade under ultra-violet light or atmospheric pollution and its unique non-stick, self-cleaning design means that grime can be easily removed by rain.
Regents Park station was refurbished as part of Transport for London's £10bn Investment Programme. It provided improvements to existing CCTV cameras, new help points and a public address system was installed, and the station will benefit from better lighting, fire detection system and new seating on platforms.
